Celeste Kessler

age 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away on February 6, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Edith (Dubner) Mishkin; husband, Leonard Kessler; sister, Sally Manasse; and sister-in-law, Marilyn (Cantor) Mishkin. Celeste is survived by her loving children, Douglas and Estella Kessler, Richard and Lucy (Godoy) Kessler, Deborah and Mark Hoover and Stephen and Juana (Aleman) Kessler; grandchildren, Maritza, Karina, Mabel, Celeste, and Ricardo Kessler, and Joshua, Dalton and Elijah Hoover; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Dr. Marvin Mishkin; sister-in-law, Marge Proctor; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Lesley Mayer, Diane Baum and Susette Tauber and many loving friends. Celeste grew up in Chicago and was a 1948 graduate of the University of Illinois. She resided in Grand Rapids, MI and Salinas, CA. and was a proud member of the Jewish community. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. Interment in Ahavas Israel Cemetery.
