ROSKIEWICZ – Carole Lynn Roskiewicz age 84, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 20, 2026. A woman of strong faith, Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Maxine Runk; her husband of 53 years, Mike; her son, Randy; her in-laws, Shirley and Peter Sloboda; Richard "Dick" Anderson; and David and Loretta "Cookie" Roskiewicz. Carole is survived by her son, Michael (and Karen) Roskiewicz and their four sons, Ben (Sara and great-grandson, Jacob), Matt, Will and Jack; her daughter-in-law, Marzena Roskiewicz, and Randy and Marzena’s children, Adam and Ania; her brother Robert (and Dee) Runk; her in-laws, Elva Anderson, Janice and Doug Fetrow, Pat and John Slavich, and Phyllis Roskiewicz and Jim Isabell; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Carole was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1942 and lived in Battle Creek and Tecumseh before her family settled in East Grand Rapids, where she graduated from High School in 1960. She attended Western Michigan University, earning a teaching degree in 1964. Carole and Mike were introduced by mutual friends in 1965, married in 1966, and welcomed their first son, Michael, in 1967. After their second son, Randy, was born in 1970, they moved to their home in Walker, where they raised their children and lived for nearly 50 years. Carole and Mike were longtime members of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where they made many lifelong friends. In their later years, they enjoyed the love and support of their small group from Calvary Church and the many activities, Bible studies, and worship services there. A lifelong learner, Carole built careers as a teacher, travel agent, photographer, medical scribe, and host at the Renucci Hospitality House, where she supported families whose relatives were receiving treatment for traumatic injuries or chronic illnesses. But above all, Carole was a loving and doting wife, mother, and grandmother who made her home the center of family life, filling it with faith, hospitality, creativity, and love. She cherished every moment with her immediate and extended family and showed her love through elaborate Sunday dinners; creative games and crafts; attendance at hundreds (and hundreds) of athletic events, PTO meetings, band concerts, school plays, choir performances, piano recitals, and graduations; trips to the petting zoo, apple orchard, climbing wall, trampoline park, kite festival, and sledding hill; and late-night heart-to-hearts that made us all better people.

All are welcome to a memorial service at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home (2120 Lake Michigan Dr., N.W., Grand Rapids, MI 49504) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026. A private interment will be held at the Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven, Michigan.
