Brandon John VanderSloot died on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on January 7, 1982 to David and Marlene VanderSloot.

Along with his parents, Brandon is survived by his son Noah John, daughter Makayla and her mother Michelle Herrmann, his brothers Darryl (Holly) and Matthew (Kim), sister Erin VanderSloot, his nieces and nephews Cassidy, Kambrie and Walker VanderSloot, Carly and Ashley Richmond, Mya and Lily VanderSloot, Ben Reeves and Addyson VanderSloot.

Brandon graduated from Kenowa Hills High School in 2000. He worked at Ranger Die for 24 years. Brandon enjoyed spending time with his children and watching sports. He was known for his witty humor and laid back disposition.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt-Shawmut Hills Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504), on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Sacha Walicord and Rev. Jerome Julien officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, January 31, 2022 from 5-8 PM with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 10 AM.

Brandon will be laid to rest next to Brenda and infant daughter Georgia in Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery.

Contributions in his memory may be made to his daughter Makayla’s Educational Fund or to Matthew’s House Ministry (766 7th St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
