KALE, Robert

Grand Rapids, MI

Age 79, passed away October 2, 2020. Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Marianne “Tutti”; his daughters, Kathleen “Kitty” Kale, Barbara (Rick) Hankins, Vicky Torrez; his grandchildren that he was so proud of, Michelle (Tarah) Wolfe, April (Jeremy) Bird, Joe Hankins, Dan Hankins, Meghan Arbanas, Nicholas Torrez, Jessica Torrez; his siblings, Judy (Larry) Narlock, Frank (Kathy) Kaleta, Victor (Carol) Kaleta, Paul Kaleta, and Jerry Kaleta. Bob was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Julia; father, Rupert; brothers, Bill, Larry, and Tommy. Bob and his wife owned Kale's Korner Bar for 43 years. He loved joking and serving his customers always leaving them laughing. In his heyday he was known as the “fastest bartender in the west”. Bob loved fishing and boating up north, and a good round of golf. He loved being with his grandkids and especially attending all of their different sporting events. He always looked forward to the annual family trip to Cedar Point. Bob was an honorary member of the Dilly Wackers. His two proudest accomplishments in life were his daughters, Kitty and Barbara. Thank you to the men and women in Blue, our everyday heroes. A gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held Wednesday October 7, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Social distancing and masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spectrum Heart Center.
