Betty Russ

Betty Marie Russ, age 90, passed away peacefully November 22, 2023. Betty was born March 13, 1933 in Grand Rapids, to the late John and Katharina (Gurga) Nozal. She was also preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Robert Russ; son, Larry Russ; grandson, Michael Haynes; and all of her siblings, Stella, John Jr., Edward, Irene, Jane, Lawrence, Lillian, and Gerald. Betty was business minded, always looked her best and was a collector of the most interesting things. But most of all, she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandma and great grandma to those who will miss her most. Betty is survived by her children, Robert Russ and Barbara (Bob Czarnopis) Haynes; grandchildren, Lisa (Ray) Kandea, Julie (Andy Schaefer) Haynes, Heather (Eric) Griffith, Kristin (Ryan Arnold) Russ, Kelli Russ; great grandchildren, Elli, Tristan, Corrine, Hazel, Hattie, Hunter, Indigo; a great great grandson, Marcos Jr; and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
