Anthony J. VanderHeide

HEIDE Anthony "Tony" J. Vander Heide, aged 90, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006. He was preceded in death by sisters, Grada Vander Heide and Henriette Hofstra and his twin brother, Jack Vander Heide. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Tony (Gail) Vander Heide, Tim (Ruth) Vander Heide, Kathy (Bernie) Smith; grandchildren, Tim Vander Heide, Matt Vander Heide and Marcy Ficek, Steve Vander Heide, Caitlin Vander Heide, Sean Vander Heide, Chantelle Vander Heide, Trey (Angela) Smith, Kelly (Todd) Shomin, Alicia Smith and special friend, Jordan Hudson; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Dylan, Isaac, Kendra, Maddie, Brayden, Kade, Isaac Lee; many nieces and nephews. Tony was a long-time member of Grace Christian Reformed Church and was an active volunteer in its food pantry. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 100 Buckley SE, Grand Rapids with Rev. Roger VanHarn officiating. Interment Washington Park Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo SE, Kentwood on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and also Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.
