Annette, affectionally referred to as “Toot” passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends under the care of Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. Toot had stage 4 colon cancer that she was not aware of until it was far too late. If you know Annette, she was strong willed and she didn’t go to the doctor. Ever!

She was born in Grand Rapids Michigan to Frank and Alice Jean (Bird) Milane. After graduating from Rockford High School, she earner her Bachelor degree from Grand Valley. She had a great love for children, running a daycare for many years and continuing to keep in touch with the families she met. She was a social justice warrior, but also a peace keeper. She was also a holistic health advocate.

She was a kind and gentle person, always advocating for the underdog. She lived a life of simplicity and saw the good in everyone. She was always willing to give although she had little for herself. Her family was her priority. Annette is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vanessa and David Skinner; grandchildren Gabrielle Jansma-Skinner and Jack Skinner.
