All who knew and loved Jeremiah Cuevas-Griffin have been touched by his compassion and unconditional love. He lived with determination and grit, and once he put his mind to achieving something, there was nothing that could stand in his way. A beloved grandson, son, brother, nephew, and cousin, Jeremiah’s family was undoubtedly his greatest treasure. His warm and friendly presence truly made the world a better and brighter place. Although life will never be the same without Jeremiah here, he leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that his loved ones can forever hold close to their hearts.

The mid 2010s were among some of the most influential years for pop culture here in the United States of America. Iconic musical artists such as Beyonce, Adele, and Nicki Minaj dominated the world stage. The Harry Potter movie franchise was at the height of its popularity, and the Marvel movies continued to make history with their record-breaking releases. It was during this exciting time that Jeremiah made his entrance into the world. Born at 3:36 P.M. at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on January 8 of 2011, Jeremiah was welcomed by his parents, Mildred Griffin and Oscar Cuevas. He was a happy kid, even as an infant, and was an amazing baby, full of smiles.

In many ways, Jeremiah was a typical boy of his generation. Though his parents didn’t live together, Jeremiah was able to grow up playing alongside his siblings, Christian, Emmanuel, Elijah, Neriah, Miguel, Isaiah, Oscar Jr., J’Shaun, Omarianna, Michael, Ivan, Gabriel, Josiah, Malachi, Eliana, and Hezekiah. Jeremiah was close to his brothers and sisters and loved them more than anything in the world. He spent lots of time with his many cousins as well. Jeremiah was raised in the family home on Kalamazoo Street SE in his hometown of Grand Rapids.

Jeremiah received most of his education at Dickinson Elementary School. Recently, he transferred to Link Learning in the Grand Rapids area to continue his education. Jeremiah loved playing sports and being an athlete. He especially enjoyed playing basketball and soccer. In his free time, Jeremiah liked hanging out and playing sports with friends. He also had a love for video games, and Road Block was his favorite game to play. Jeremiah began attending Berean Baptist Church. He went to services on Sunday and was involved in the youth group on Wednesdays as well.

Outgoing, social, and fun, Jeremiah Cuevas-Griffin connected with people and made friends everywhere he went. He possessed a sparkling personality and a sharp sense of humor, and he could always find a way to treat those around him with kindness. There was nothing Jeremiah loved more than spending time with his siblings, cousins, and friends. His irresistible charm and insatiable zest for life drew others in, and the special way he saw the world truly left an unforgettable impact on so many. Already so greatly missed, Jeremiah will be forever loved and remembered.

Jeremiah Cuevas-Griffin of Grand Rapids Michigan, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday May 5, 2026. Jeremiah is preceded in death by his father Oscar Cuevas, his Grandfather Millard Griffin.

Jeremiah is survived by his mother Mildred Griffin, his many siblings Christian, Emmanuel, Elijah, Neriah, Miguel, Isaiah, Oscar Jr. J’Shaun, Omarianna, Michael, Ivan, Gabriel, Josiah, Malachi, Eliana and Hezekiah.

Jeremiah leaves behind his grandparents Miguel and Maria Cuevas, Lossie; his aunts and uncles Shanta, Crystal, Emma, Niki, April, Marisol and Derrick, Mike and Abby, and Tony, along with an abundance of cousins and friends.

Jeremiah’s family will receive visitors on Thursday May 14, 2026 from 2 - 6 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield Ave. N.E. Grand Rapids, MI 49505.

A service to remember and celebrate Jeremiah’s life will be held on Friday May, 15 2026 at 11:00 AM at Berean Baptist church, 1574 Coit Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Jeremiah’s family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Jeremiah will be laid to rest in Woodlawn West Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a time of food and fellowship following the service which will also be held at the church.
