MCDONALD, Edwina L.

Grand Rapids, MI

Entered eternal life on March 5, 2019 while in Hospice at St. Ann’s Home. Born October 9, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Estelle McDonald of Chicago and her sister Rose McDonald Kintzele and brother-in-law Richard Kintzele of South Bend Indiana. Her nephews Richard Kintzele and John Kintzele and niece Roseanne Kintzele went ahead and will greet her at heaven’s gates. Win graduated from Providence High School and Rosary College. She lived and worked in Washington DC as a registered dietitian for the Department of Veterans Affairs. She was a long standing member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, a life member of the American Dietetic Association, sustaining member of Friends of the Smithsonian Institution, along with various religious organizations. She will be missed by her surviving nieces and nephews, Mary Ellen (Chet) Koziol, Loretta (Tom) Armock, Robert (Linda) Kintzele, Joseph Kintzele, Jeanette (Brian) Pritschet, and Virginia Such. She also leaves many greatnieces and greatnephews. In Win’s memory please consider Emmanuel Hospice and/or St. Ann’s Home in Grand Rapids, MI where “Winnie” received excellent care, opportunities for daily Mass, singing, music and other activities for many years. The family is grateful for such a place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 9, at 10:30 AM at St. Ann’s Home, 2161 Leonard St NW. The vigil beginning at 9:30 AM.
