Diane Bronkema

Diane Marie (Williams) Bronkema passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. She now joins her sons, Rick and Ron, in the arms of the Heavenly Father.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard Bronkema. They met while “cruising” in downtown Grand Rapids in 1955. They shared a hamburger and Coke that evening and were married six months later.

She is also survived by her brother Tom (Pat) Williams. Children Randy Bronkema, Rana (Mike) Garner, and Holly (Scott) Michaels. Grandchildren Joanna, Charles, and Ryan (Sarah) Bronkema, Devin, Sonja, and Kona Michaels, Great grandchildren Ricky and Adalyn.

She was a dedicated member of her church and community. An avid seamstress, she loved sewing for her family and friends. She loved to travel out West with her husband and family and spending summer nights outdoors tending to the garden.

Her family remembers her love of the color purple, reflected in her wardrobe and home. She could often be found baking and listening to her favorite musician, Neil Diamond.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Care Resources in Grand Rapids and Alliance Home Health Care.

Due to a Covid-19 restrictions, a service will be held at a later date.
