Age 85, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2018 at the Christian Rest Home. Beatrice was born January 6, 1933 to the late Oscar & Cornelia (Rooker) Vander Velde. She was married to R. Norman Toebes in 1952, her husband of 66 years survives, as do their children, Shirley (Richard) Small, Maribeth Paige, Dan (Phyllis) Toebes, Judy (James) Sterling, James (Christy) Toebes, Patti Riccardo; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Roger Vander Velde; and sister-in-law, Sena Toebes. Beatrice was preceded in death by her son, Robert Toebes; grandson, Nathan Small; brother Marvin Vander Velde; and sister, Verna Crapo. A funeral service will be held Friday June 1 at 11 AM, at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6-8 and Friday beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Washington Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian Rest Home.
